Position Description: 

The Segmentation Editor supports online advertising products by building query segments that in turn train search algorithms used by the search engine.  Candidates will work with the Behavioral Targeting analyst team to learn and use various user segmentation tools.  Applicants must be based in the greater Seattle and metropolitan area and must be fluent in English; both written and verbal.  This is a regular part-time work-from-home position 20 – 25 hours per week requiring attentive, decisive and motivated individuals who can learn quickly and adapt to changing guidelines.

Required Skills/Background

    * Candidates must be familiar with the culture, history, & current affairs of Australia.  This is a major requirement of the program as the work you will be involved in will require an extensive knowledge of the Australian market.
    * Ability and desire to do product research on the Internet
    * Knowledge of popular web search engines, informational portals, and general pop-culture of the target market
    * Ability to prioritize and sort information
    * Ability to recognize patterns and draw conclusions from those patterns
    * Ability to pinpoint the core meaning and intent of keyword queries and phrases
    * Critical thinking skills (defined as: the analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and reconstruction of thinking).
    * Data analyzing skills (understand basic database structures)
    * Excellent communication skills and demonstrated professionalism (Customer Support)
    * Fluency in English

 Qualifications:

    * A BS degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent
    * Familiarity with US market advertisers and brands for various verticals, such as Retail, Fashion, Consumer Products, Automobile, etc.
    * Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English
    * Experience/knowledge with various data analysis tools, such as Excel, SQL Server
    * Attention to detail and data accuracy.
    * Demonstrated willingness to learn new techniques.
    * Superior communications skills, both verbal and written.
    * Ability to draw conclusions from data and recommend actions.
    * Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Transcribe for Verbal Vision

I found this post advertised on WAHM Forum. Hope it will help those looking for transcription positions. According to the hiring person you need not have experience in transcription but do need to pass their test.


TRANSCRIPTIONIST (work from home)
Experienced U.S.-based transcriptionists needed to work from home. As this is a virtual position, we require all transcriptionists to check their e-mail accounts at least twice a day for transcription assignments. Average sound file assignments run one hour in length or longer. All transcriptionists will retrieve digital audio files from our FTP site.

Requirements:
+ Must have an excellent grasp of American culture and colloquialism as well as English spelling and punctuation rules
+ Ability to handle accents, background noise, and difficult audio at times highly desired
+ Willingness to spend time looking up medical terminology and follow varying formatting instructions
+ Available to transcribe at least four hours of audio per week
+ Broadband Internet access (required for expedited downloading purposes)
+ Familiarity with downloading from FTP sites
+ Experience with free transcription program Express Scribe
+ Foot pedal

All transcription work for our company is completed by independent contractors. Compensation for this position is $10.25 per fifteen minutes of transcribed audio. It takes most of our transcriptionists about one hour to transcribe fifteen minutes of audio; thus, our pay rate is the approximate equivalent to $10.25 per working hour.

As an internet search consultant your ultimate goal will be to contribute towards making internet search more exciting, relevant and interesting for all end users in the United States.  You will play a part in improving the quality of one of the largest search engines in the world.
